American Boston Terrier Rescue

American Boston Terrier Rescue is a small, dedicated group of Boston Terrier-loving volunteers based in North Texas. We're stay busy rescuing, training, transporting, vetting, coordinating and fundraising all for the love of our chosen breed, the Boston Terrier.

All of the dogs in ABTR’s program are fully vetted, parasite and heartworm checked (and treated, if positive), spayed/neutered and temperament tested to ensure a good fit into a new home. It is our policy to never turn away a Boston in need regardless of age or health, space permitting. Since the group’s inception in 2003, we’ve rescued and placed more than 500 formerly abused, neglected and/or unwanted Boston Terriers into loving homes!

Our adoption process begins with an application. Some have scoffed at the length of our application and a few have been put off by the amount of detail we require. For this we make no apologies. Our application is very involved. However, it is an essential first step in the adoption process and incomplete applications will not be processed. Our responsibility is to the Bostons in our care and we’re very serious about researching potential homes and families to ensure a good fit for each rescued Boston.

We accept all Boston Terriers, regardless of age or health issues, as long as space permits. Please consider adopting a rescued Boston Terrier from ABTR. With each new adoption, ABTR is able to give another needy Boston the chance to find the love and happiness that all Bostons deserve.
